As a general rule, if you receive any email requesting any information, it
is a fraud or an attempt to obtain information for fraudelant purposes
"phfising". Ebay, in particular, has a message section in the "My EBay"
section. When you go to your main ebay screen, if they have a message for
you, it is there -- not spread out through regular email. NEVER click on a
link on an email that you receive as they almost always redirect you to a
fraud pepertrator.
How many of us have received emails purported to be from North Fork Bank or
other obscure banks stating that our account information is compromised. You
would be amazed at the number of idiots I repeat idiots who respond to these
emails even though North Fork is a VERY obscure bank on Long Island, NY and
I doubt if people outside of Long Island would have an account there.
The down side of all of this fraud stuff is that I am now getting more of
these than the porn site and viagra ads. Perhaps they have figured out that
I am over the hill and can't respond as they would like.
