"traditional" sports car to sell. My understanding as well, some of the 3Bs
had the all synchro box, some not, some the bigger engine of the TR4, some
not. I guess this is consistent with the idea of using up the spares still
around.

My recollection is that there were about 800 TR3 bodies left over, but no
more TR3 engines and trannies, so Triumph balanced out the bodies with the
bigger TR4 engine and the all synchro gearbox and marketed it as a TR3 B.
