Saw the posting on setting Speedos using a GPS. Slightly different calibration
problem, but I fitted a Retrotrip last Saturday, then on Sunday took the BN2
for a run out to calibrate it. I chose a quiet, straight, piece of road and set
the GPS to read miles travelled. Using the instructions that came with the
Retrotrip, I used the GPS to get an exact measured mile, then dialed the number
that came up on the unit into the setting registers. It worked a treat. In fact
on the just over 20 mile run home, the Retrotrip was within 6 100ths of a mile
of the GPS. It was probably even better than that in reality, since the GPS
lost its signal at one point on the way home, and most if not all the 6 100ths
difference occurred during that time.
