Tim, be sure your clutch master and slave cylinders are working properly,
too. Make sure the pedal clevis pin isn't excessively worn. These items can
also cause shifting problems.

Subject: gear crunch BT7
Hi ALL
Some wisdom on a matter that I have absolutely no knowledge.
The problem I have is rapid changing between gears doesn't give a perfect
synchro, particularly from 3 to 4, and
usually causes a definite crunch. Some times when stationary it is difficult
to get into first, and shifting into second and then straight into first
usually works. Slower gear change between all gears gives perfect
meshing. Gear oil 20/60 is changed (old oil a was bit discoloured but no
evidence of metal in the drain off). The clutch is well fully engages and
doesn't appear any problem. Is this a gear selector issue , normal wear or
just how these boxes behave?
Any comments would be appreciated, but unfortunately a lot of the list
