polarizing generator help

Hello all,

Cant remember which way to polarize the darn thing. I know its a simple 
task,but im getting confused with directions which I have for Neg. Ground, 
This is a Poss. ground car and gen was rebuilt . Ign warn lite stays on 
after start, I think polarizing is the cure.
