I posted a question on the list a few days ago as my fuel gauge would not read
below half a tank and received many suggestions. On examination it appears
that the gauge and sender unit were working fine but I found that a baffle
plate inside the tank (about 8-10 inches square)had wedged inself under the
sender unit float - hence it would not read less than half. The tank is the
aluminium version of the standard BJ8 tank and is not foam filled.
Now the question is how did this baffle come free, assuming its not supposed to
roam free inside the tank, and how do I get it back where it should be given
the opening via the sender unit aperture is very small?
Any thoughts on this much appreciated.
