John. IMHO unless you are going for concours I would be sure I put a zip out window in your BT7. I have the same car and after several summers of broiling in the cockpit I paid to have a zip window put in and I love it. It makes a huge difference on a hot summer day ( which we get at least twice a summer here in Maine ).
