G'day
Perhaps a little of Joe's subtle Australian humour is lost on our
Austin-Healey friends throughout the world.
Summers at Nassau must have been quite something and from reports DMH
got quite carried away with it all hence the venture into boats. What is
little known is that plans were also well afoot to build a factory in
the Bahamas for the purpose of constructing boats and cars for the US
market. DMH had discussed this at length with GP driver Peter Collins
who was to manage the facility.
Perhaps it was all as a result of too much sun combined with rum?
Afterall DMH did say that his venture into boats was somewhat foolhardy
but quite wonderful for us now years later.

Hey Joe,
Pat's brother not only raced 100Ss at Sebring but had been a Grand Prix
pilot for 11 seasons, participating in 66 races with not less than 16
victories as well. His name is Sir Sterling Moss. FYI

Guys
Forgot to mention that the film footage also shows Tommy Wisdom .He
drove the 100/6 and Sprite in their earliest competition events and
evaluations. His daughter Ann was a successful rally competitor in
Healeys, usually with Pat Moss who had a brother that raced 100.S and
Sprites at Sebring. What's his name Moss also water-skied behind a Healey
speed-boat with Donald while they holidayed in the Bahamas at
Moss'holiday house. This construction was managed by Ken Gregory [Moss'
manager and Healey Publicity Manager. He arranged the 100/6 called Goldie
that was a PR exercise at the London Motor Show ]Wisdom was also
involved in writing the very first book on Austin Healeys Just thought I
would add this vital piece of Healey history before all the experts
jumped in to correct me!!!!!
Joe
