Trafficator grief (help!)

I removed my contact ring and my steering wheel boss on my 56 - 100 
today to replace a broken indicator lever and cannot get the three 
brass screws that hold these parts to grab  for the refit . Do I need 
to pull the entire trafficator assembly out and rebuild it from behind 
? Or have I missed something. Bummed out,Thanks Jonathan
