Hello again,
I'm working on my friends 1954 AH100-4 and have a few more originality
questions. As always, feel free to answer any of the questions.
1. The dash securing screw in the center of the dash. What does it screw
into? I have the
bracket behind the dash, but the hole is just a bit smaller that a dime.
Is there something
that fits into the hole that the screw screws into?
2. The vertical, removeable, steel panel in front of the gearbox cover. Are
the "feet' at the bottom of this
panel suppose to sit on the frame? Do the screws that hold this panel
on go in with the point of the
screw pointing towards the front of the car? The drawing in the Moss
catalog shows this panel as
having sides that curve around the kick panels with the screws going in
pointing towards the side of
the car. My panel is roughly flat except the flange of the curve that
fits over the gearbox. My panel is
missing the rubber seal that fitsbetween the curve of the panel and the
gearbox body. Moss shows
that rubber piece as held on with rivets, but, my panel has not holds in
it from rivets. Hmmm. And, the
British Sportscar Specialists Kilmartin parts catalogue shows this panel
as having "legs" of 2 3/4" and
3 1/2", but mine are both 2 3/4". Hmmm. Ideas as to what's up?
3. The removeable driveshaft cover that fits between the big gearbox cover
and the non-removeable driveshaft
cover. How well does this usually fit? Mine fits fairly well to the
non-removeable cover, but pretty poorly
to the gearbox cover. Big gap on the passenger side.
4. The thin metal plates with holes in them for maounting the seats. Do
they go on the top of the floor or
underneath against the underside of the floor?
5. Does anyone sell the two clutch linkage rod? Mine are way worn at the
ends, creating lots of play.
Thanks gang!
