Healey friends,
My buddy Karl is in town for a couple of days and aside from consuming mass
quantities of micro-brewed beer we are working on my 63 BJ-7. Anyway, we
attached the shroud and now are working on the hood that doesn't fit for
sh!t. I don't know if the hood was ever original to my car but that should not
matter,...right? Without even having the hinges attached, the rear of the hood
is too flat. It needs to have a very slight hump or be slightly convex in the
center to match the shroud. Perhaps the shroud is off. Also, the sides of the
hood are right up against the sides of the shroud. By the time I apply putty,
primer and paint the fit will be too tight. Should the hood have a slight side
to side bow it in to fit properly? What could be the problem?
I should preface this query by stating that we were not drinking at the time of
panel fittment. Thanks in advance to any answers.
