| Hi, Ron -
Welcome to the list!
I've been on this list since 1996, long enough to see some patterns. It seems
to be a natural characteristic of e-mail lists that personal animosities and
disagreements periodically develop and get aired on the list for all
bystanders to enjoy. They generally are short-term and disappear in a few
days to await the next trigger issue. Fortunately, the wavelength of this
cycle is pretty long for our Healey group.
Another recurring element is a flurry of appeals to get the conversation back
on topic when the disagreements break out. These patterns are not unique to
the Healey list, but as I have heard from others our disagreements are very
mild and civilized compared to those on some other lists.
Nothing to worry too much about. Overall, our group is pretty well-mannered
most of the time.

  Healey Enthusiasts,
I'm new to the Austin Healey site and a new Healey enthusiast. I'm in the
middle of a restoral project and am heartened by the assistance I've
received from the truly unique and knowledgable members of this group.
However, I am disappointed by the discourse concerning this Concours issue.
Why does such an obvioulsy personal issue such as the authenticity of a
concurs award concern the entire Austin Healey group? The volume of
distribe
I see each day is not relavant to the Group, and I would hope that the
interested individuals would take it off-net for the betterment of us all.
I
agree with the responders who state that this seems to be a personal
vendetta that has no place here.....
  My humble opinion only.
  Ron
