Kenny:

Your problem is fairly typical on brand new restorations.

Before you toss out the generator, be sure that it is grounded - quite often
there is too much paint on the ears of the generator mounting bracket as
well as the tabs that mount the generator to it. Make sure that the contact
area of the tabs area is clean metal. It wouldn't hurt to check the other
ground contact areas that always seem to get painted over - ie, both ends of
the engine ground strap (especially the boss on the frame), and the ground
boss on the frame in the trunk.

Betcha that's the problem!

On my first trip (other than around the block) in my car since a three year
frame off restoration, I also experienced electrical problems. My battery
eventually died and I also had to push start my car. It seems like the
generator isn't charging the battery. Anyone know a good source for a
generator? Or am I stuck getting mine rebuilt? I noticed Moss does not
list one.
