when i was stationed at nellis afb back in the 70's i went to get license
plates for my second healey i had just purchased. i was told by an ignorant
b---- that i had to get a smog inspection. i haughtily replied that 66 autos
did not need to be smogged. she told me that if i wanted a license i had to
get a smog check. realizilng very quickly i was not going to win this
dogfight, i left. i wrote to the license office in selma, alabama, where i
had been stationed a few years before, told them i was coming back to alabama
and needed license plates and included a check for $12. i had license plates
in a week, and i was legal. guess i showed her, huh. healeymanjim
