Michael -

Yes, you need the phenolite spacers to properly space
the carbs so that you can attach the original H4 float
bowl supports to your car.  The size you need is ... I
think ... 1/4 inch thick (it might be 1/2", I don't
remember).  You also need the spacers so that there
are no travel problems with the throttle linkage.

You can get the right spacers at all the usual
suspects such as:

www.sumidel.com
www.britishcarspecialists.com
www.cape-international.com

I bought mine at cape... but if you want to use a US
supplier "british car specialists" will know the right
size and type.

You should note that the prices on the su midel site
are in Australian Dollars, so prices are 30% lower
than what you think.
