Thanks guys for your discussion about adjusting carb needles for proper
idle. Ever since finishing a frame-up restoration of my '60 BN7 in 1997 I could
not get it to idle smoothly. The car ran rich and nothing seemed to work. It
never occurred to me to check the carb needles closely. Today I removed the
pistons from the carbs and examined them. The rear needle was seated properly
as
described by Brent Porter, but when I checked the front carb the needle was
pushed in too far. This has apparently been the cause of rich idle and the
difficulty of getting the carbs balanced. I followed Brent's instructions and
in a
short time Lady Godiva was purring like never before. Thanks Brent and everyone
for the enlightenment.
