Rick,
The tach cable does not go through the firewall on a Hundred.
The tach cable runs straight back under the vent pipe, through the gearbox
bulkhead opening, swings up to the left side at about the 10 o'clock
position when viewed from the rear of the car looking forward. It is
secured into a wrap around wiring harness type clip along with the speedo
cable, the self tapping anchor screw for the clip screwing into the box
section just to the left of the heater assembly. You should be able to find
the screw hole there. Then the tach cable goes up and into the back of the
tach.
When the vertical "U" shaped gearbox bulkhead panel screws into place, there
is a small notch in the rectangular cross section sealing rubber going
across the top, just enough to allow the two cables to squeeze through.
