What is oil is recommended for a Toyota W59 five-speed transmission (Smitty's conversion)? Redline's site seems to recommend their MTL 75/85 synthetic oil with a GL4 rating, and several sites say that while GL5 oils are okay for differential they will definitely shorten the life of synchros as they are corrosive to brass, etc. Castrol's HYPOY C would seem to fall into the latter category.
