Happy Birthday, Greg...and the same to mine! Sorry about all the other
tough mileage in the family. Here's a virtual brew and a bag of chips.
And a special thanks to DMH.

I was hoping to have a party with friends and local club members (many of
which are one and the same) celebrating the 50th birthday of my BN1 (BN1L
156438). However, if I have learned anything over the course of two
marriages (took me deep into the 2nd to learn it) timing is important.
With my ankle broken and my wife's stepfather very recenly passed away,
high
school graduation, and numerous other family matters going on I did not
think it the proper time to ask the wife to do the things she would think
necessary to host a party. I would merely buy beer and make a few calls,
my
wife, bless her heart, would feel the need to make it a little more
  complicated, cleaning, preparing food, etc.

Anyway in absence of a local party if you get a chance and are so inclined
tip your favorite beverage to my car or to DMH for making them and to more
than half a century of great motoring adventures.
