Hello all,
It has come to my attention that a prominent restoration parts supplier (not
M***) here on the left side of the pond has expressed an interest in
reproducing the correct door seal for all Abingdon built Healeys.
That includes from the late BN4, BN6, BN7, BT7, BJ7, and BJ8.
What we need is a small length of the original stuff as a sample for them to
work to.
Please, no aftermarket reproductions, no matter how good they might be (that's
a joke).
The originals had steel inner barbed clips covered by a colour keyed "U"
shaped "fuzzy" portion, and the rubber extrusion cross section consisted of an
"O" section with a lipped edge extending from it.
If anybody can supply me with a small piece at least 6" long, maybe we can get
something under way. Any samples of the original colours would be of great
help too.
Original colours were red, dark blue, black and grey (beige).
Please let me know what you have and ship to:
Rich Chrysler
735 Glancaster Rd.,
R.R.#1, Mount Hope,
Ontario, Canada.
L0R 1W0

Thanks
Rich Chrysler
