Alfin drums again

G'day listers

I've finally removed the front drums on the Ward Special - in appearance
Alfins - fins across drum circumference. Good thing is they, the linings &
cylinders appear to be in good condition. However, I'm puzzled that the drums
seem to be all ferrous, although I thought Alfins were alloy with only the
friction surfaces of cast steel ("meanite"). Any thoughts? Can provide photos
if interested.
