I think that a subtle ploy rests within....................I recall cooking 
something that we call "Bombay Duck" in the UK. (Actually dried fish from 
India, which are deep fried.) Once the dust had cleared and we were talking 
again - 
the house having returned to normal over the course of a week or so - I find 
that I can dry, bake pretty well whatever & whenever "so long as it's not that 
******* fish *!!*!!!!"
Try it.......if the ply works we'll call it after you. If it doesn't.........
