I need end speed cleared up. Last weekend I co-drove a friends car and we used
my
Geez. The car is an '89 Civic hatch with a modified 1.6l JDM Si motor, gutted
interior and
modified suspension. The car is classed in DM though not a good DM car. Any way,
we know his car does 58 - 60 mph in second gear before the rev limit goes to
work.
When setting the end speed for one of my runs I used a point on the track where
I
know I hit the rev limiter in second (not enough time to make an
upshift/downshift
worthwhile). The end speed adjustment for this straight section of the course
is .030.
I applied that same setting to one of his runs but now Geez is telling me he was
only doing 56 mph at that point. The map looks accurate enough but I'm wondering
why the differences in speed. To get 60 on his map requires an end speed factor
of
.034. Only thing I can think of is that Geez is thinking he's coming off the
prior
corner at a slower speed than me. This leads me to think that how a run was
driven is more a factor in adjusting end speed than the type of car. In other
words,
one car, driven by one person over several runs, could possibly need a
different end
speed adjustment for each run. Is this correct or am I missing something here?
btw, thanks for the help earlier this week. Had reinstalled hotsync and
forgotten
about setting it to manual. As I now use an iPAQ as my PDA, I've just removed
hotsync as it's no longer needed.
TIA,
Patrick
