The new software sets the "wait state" on the fly, then
keeps adjusting it to keep your Palm right at 10 samples per
second. The ideal wait state varies a lot between the
different models of Palms, so this strategy works best.

We've seen this one as more laptop dependent. You can try
going into My Computer | Control Panel | System | Device
Manager and double clicking on ports. When your Com port
comes up double click it to open up the "Communications Port
(Com X) Properties" dialog. Go to Port Settings, then click
on the Advanced button. You can set the Receive and
Transmit buffers lower and this will generally improve your
communication between the Palm and the laptop. This has
worked for several customers. Others have no problem with
the factory settings. If you get totally lost you can hit
the "Defaults" button to return to the factory settings.

We now have a setting for "initial view" in the Options
dialog. Press the options button, and move that out just a
bit to get a longer view. Keep in mind that if you have a
long run that is to be split up into several shorter laps,
this is the initial step in doing that, to set the initial
view to be more than the first lap, then set the MultiLap
property, both within the Options dialog.

If it's really jagged you may be seeing a run recorded at
20hz being displayed as 10hz, or vice-versa. Again, go into
your Options dialog and verify that if you recorded it on
the Palm you are viewing it as 10hz data.
