I had this happen (at the nationals warm up), but it was no big deal to
solder on the surface of the board. There does not seem to be any sensitive
components on the power unit board. I could not pull the board out, so I
tined the wire with solder, heated it and pushed it into the board hole, it
worked fine.

P.S. I am going to make a 12 volt power adapter to run it from the car. I
kill a 9 volt battery every 2 events or so. Since the palm is self powered, I
don't think I will have any noise issues, I will have it filtered and
regulated to 8 volts. I'll let the list know how it works out.
