Byron can correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't need terribly "clean" power
for the Cube.  It has an on-board voltage regulator that I believe is good
for twelve volt input.  The power problem with laptops is not that the power
is dirty, it's that there isn't always enough of it.  Laptops tend to fudge
the old plus and minus 12 volt swing that desktops run.
