Nice, yeah, that about sums it up, except for that whole =E2=80=9Cgrow a =
third testicle=E2=80=9D thing. One and two are also off-camber. So if =
you touch your brakes anywhere close to race speed, you=E2=80=99ll lose =
a lot of time=E2=80=94mostly because you=E2=80=99ll be in the dirt, =
going backwards. You=E2=80=99ll notice brakes are mentioned only once =
without the words moderate, confidence, or no in front of it. I think =
when I finally got up to a reasonable speed, I touched the brake twice. =
I love thinking about that track. I mentioned it last night during =
dinner, and Diane started laughing. One of my daughters is visiting, and =
Diane said, =E2=80=9CYou know how when he comes in after a session, he =
jumps out of the car and is all excited. When he came in after a session =
at Mosport, he sat in the car for five minutes, and when he finally got =
out, he was all somber and grumpy.=E2=80=9D I don=E2=80=99t think I was =
grumpy; I loved the track. It just requires a lot of thinking. It=E2=80=99=
s one of a kind. I don=E2=80=99t know how anyone has the nerve to run it =
on a motorcycle.=20

If you haven=E2=80=99t driven Mosport, you have a treat coming, and it =
will change you a bit. Watch Henry=E2=80=99s video four or five times. =
Realize that wide-angle action cameras make hills look flat. 1 and 2 =
look like gentle downhill turns=E2=80=94they are not. Turn 5A looks =
fairly flat=E2=80=94it looks as steep as a wall when you=E2=80=99re =
approaching it. I used less and less brakes for 5A=E2=80=94Peyote used =
the momentum well and worked best with its ass sliding a bit into 5B. =
Watch the difference in Henry=E2=80=99s steering correction between laps =
1 and 2 and the rest of the laps. Hit the crest in the right spot and =
the right angle, and you=E2=80=99re golden. If you miss the magic spot, =
lift on the throttle right away because you can=E2=80=99t make =
adjustments anywhere near the apex and expect to stay on the track.
