Stirling Moss : 4 times F1 runner up but no F1 championship title, yet he i=
s recognised as a true all times great. Lewis Hamilton has to chase his sev=
enth F1 title, Stirling Moss could afford to get none.=20

Onderwerp: [Fot] Stirling Moss at Stardust Raceway=20
The year is 1968 and I am a Jr. in High School in Las Vegas. The Can Am ser=
ies has been coming to Las Vegas for a few years to the Stardust Internatio=
nal Raceway. The track was west of the Strip by several miles (now a housin=
g development). Ditching class on a Friday I go out to watch practice and a=
fter getting a ticket for under $5 I head for the pits. Jim Hall is there w=
ith the high wing Chaparral, the mighty McLaren=E2=80=99s of Bruce and Denn=
y Hulme are warming up. John Surtees and the magnificent sounding Ferrari i=
s sorting out mechanicals. Just being able to walk up to any car and driver=
, take a picture, get an autograph, what a privilege.=20
While watching the action I hear an English voice over my shoulder. I turn =
and there stands Stirling Moss, a =E2=80=98bird=E2=80=99 under each arm, an=
d he is explaining what is going on to two of the most gorgeous gals this 1=
6 year old had ever seen. I was so stunned I could not even ask for an auto=
graph but I sure watched as he wandered the pits and talked to all the driv=
ers. The =E2=80=98birds=E2=80=99 seemed to be ever so happy to be given suc=
h a personal tour. What a legend was Sir Stirling Moss, in more ways than o=
ne!=20
Cheers all and Stay Safe, Ken=20
