I noticed that I may have slighted previous Chump and Lemon=E2=80=99s =
efforts with this car in my note. This is the first WRL event where we =
made all the laps. WRL is a significant step up in racing versus the =
others. There are plenty of ex-Lemons and Chump cars running in WRL but =
there are also plenty of serious race cars out there as well. Thus the =
comment referred only to WRL; this was our first such success in WRL.

We had six drivers, most from the FOT list. Greg and Bob Blake, Bobby =
Whitehead, Dusty Nicholson, Richard Ceraldi and myself. All of us race =
other Triumphs and Richard has a GT6 street car and a Mini Cooper he =
does HPDE=E2=80=99s in. The car progressed from a Lemon=E2=80=99s rat =
roller to a reasonable race car over time. I supervised the build of the =
original car and Greg and I have both done significant work on =
improving it over time. It did a few Lemon=E2=80=99s weekends, then some =
Chump races and has competed in three WRL endurance weekends. This was =
the first one where we completed every lap, every hour. That is not to =
say we were on the lead laps. There were two factory built BMW =
M2=E2=80=99s out there a couple of Mustang purpose built racers, and a =
number of other P cars and Beemers that lapped us many times. It was =
fun to race against the Corvettes in the rain, but the smaller Boxsters, =
S2000 and Miata=E2=80=99s had the better of us. Truth is not only were =
we the oldest car out there by far, we were also outclassed in speed =
potential by almost everyone, and in the rain that gapped widened. I did =
about more than two hours in heavy rain. It wasn=E2=80=99t the =
=E2=80=9Crace of a lifetime=E2=80=9D but it was fun in a sadistic sort =
of way.=20
