My GT cell hangs down about like that, but it's above clearance of the diff=
, so from the front any obstacle would hit the diff and axles before the ce=
ll. I don't have additional protection for it, but see some box it with 1" =
square stock

I currently have a steel plate that runs under my trunk pan and 'protects' =
my fuel safe fuel cell. I am looking to cut some weight by removing. If I d=
o, my fuel cell will hang below the trunk pan maybe 3".=20
I see other racers with their cells hanging below the trunk pan. Any safety=
issue with doing this? Any reason not to cut that plate out--runs entire w=
idth of trunk?
