I too have stuck with Valvoline VR1, and I use the off the shelf 20W-50. It h=
as gone from a $2.99 a quart oil to $6.99 and that puts it within a few buck=
s of some of the dedicated stuff. I may reconsider this in the future and ab=
andon my admittedly too frequent oil dumping schedule.
With the off the shelf VR1 non-synthetic there was a year or so where they t=
ook the ZDDP out of it. Sales dropped the they figured out that they had aba=
ndoned their customers.=20
