To say the truth - I've never done anything to the frame since I own the car
(22 years now).
I do run stock leave springs at rear and at front coil springs from the MGB
GT 1800.
I check the frame every season and found nothing so far.

I'd be very surprised if you have no fatigue cracking on a standard chassis
after 50 years - you must have prepared it very well, but I'm sure a soft
suspension assists greatly.
