Granted, this is on a GT6, I also have a Griffin, my tank sits parallel to the
valve cover running length wise between the cover and the carbs. It sits above
the manifold and is fed upwards from the radiator with the same size radiator
hose as all the others. Its made out of the brass (solid portion) of a stock
GT6 radiator with a fabricated flat bottom. As an extra precaution I have a
tube leading to a small overflow bottle in the unused battery box, which has
yet to accumulate anything significant in it. This system has served me well so
far. Gigantic radiator... No fan.

Subject: [Fot] TR4 expansion tank question
Sent: Jun 6, 2012 9:03 PM
Fot,
I'm a little stuck on something. I want to install an expansion tank on the
car but from what I
understand about them the bottom of the expansion tank needs to be higher
than the head.
I use a Griffin radiator which is lower than the thermostat housing.
I can't see a way to get the bottom of the tank higher than the thermostat
housing.
I have my eye on a couple models Canton Makes but at best the bottom of the
tank would
still be slightly lower than the top of the thermo housing.
Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.
