2002 Chevy Avalanche with 5.3 liter V8 auto trans, towing my double deck open trailer loaded with two Spitfires and a full complement of gear and tools gets 9 to 11 MPG at a constant 70 to 80 MPH, depending entirely on wind direction and the grade. It pulls down a lot up a steep grade (such as going up the mountain to Breckenridge last summer) but on flat pavement it goes fine at whatever the posted speed limit is.
