[Fot] GT6 dash query

i have the wooden dash facia out of my right hand drive Mk1 GT6. there is a
large (original) stamped hole in the steel backing beside the speedo, but
the wood is solid and covers it. was this for a vent on some models??. If
so, if anyone has one, please contact me
