Marty,
The tubes in the float bowl tops are pressed in...and yes I have seen them
come adrift!. Take a pair-o-pliers and wiggle them out (no sweat if they
break off anyway). Carefully drill and tap the openings for 1/8" pipe. Order
up a coupla 1/8" to AN4 fittings and Bob's your uncle.
When drilling be sure to go deep enuf to get max threading, then apply
something like permatex no1 to the threads and screw them in just past
snug...too deep and you'll split the aluminum over the top of the fitting.
I zip tie the ss hose to the air horns so that there is no weight on the
fittings from the weight of the hose...prolly overkill, but ya never know.
Just keepin that gas flowin in Nor Cal...
Nick
ps wish I coulda been there with you all...was entered but broke it at
ThunderHill just prior (was supposed to be my shakedown race) and haven't had
the time to delve into it yet...

Subject: [Fot] Fuel Line Question
Looking at the rubber hoses and associated hose clamps in the engine
ompartment of the Spitty, thinking there has to be a better/safer way. I
hink the way to go would be SS braided line and AN fittings. Question is,
ow would you tie into the fuel tubes sticking out of the 1-1/4 S.U.'s? Any
dvice out there?
Thanks,
arty
