I'm about to embark on the same project, even have the sheet already. One
poser that I'm still stewing on is the front flange to the firewall
cutout. I'm thinking this should be thicker, maybe .125. Beyond that, I'm
thinking of bringing the sides straight down to use Dzus fasteners instead of
the stock bent flange and screws. Maybe even rubeer stretch grips, whqatever
they're called...

On the other hand, a later Herald 1200 cover is the same shape all around.
The only difference is the location of the hole for the shift lever, which
is
further back on the Vitesse/GT6 than on the Herald. (Earlier Herald covers
are
the same as Spitfire.)

*Mrs Irrelevant: Oh, is it a jet?
*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er, Triumph
Herald engine with wings.

Keep in mind that the starter on the GT6 is on the right
side, the left side on a Spit. The clearance bulges are
different.
