Bill:

Good comments and progressive thinking. All these social medias have some
merit.

Interestingly, my cousin put my name on a list called GENI (geneology
repository) where all family members are listed, with Mothers maiden name,
contact information, and more.... What was he thinking? He was so naive in
thinking that this program would remind family of Birthdates, Deaths,
Wedding anneversaries, and all dates sacred.

I have told my sons to be extrordinarily careful on the facebook as it could
come back to bite them in ways they did not intend. Precisely for the
reasons you mentioned. i.e. job interviews. We have a professional life and
a private life.

Looking into someones personna by way of this surrogate is not entirely
accurate and can paint an image that may not be what you want the
interviewer to see. I can give many examples.

I sometimes think of facebook as a powerful magnet and ideal mecca for
exhibitionists and voyerism. Personality traits that many people need -
precisely why it is so enticing and addictive.

Like I said I joined reluctantly...
