Having more front ride height than the rear will cause understeer for sure. Plus with a rear engine car, the front end is running light already. So the question is, will lowering the front offset the increase in spring rate from cutting the springs? That's going to depend on many variables, and I would defer to Bill's reply about running on a skidpad/ tight track and doing some real testing.
