Lister's,
I believe that we have already seen a few threads on this subject. But I am
seeking general consensus on the plumbing/routing of coolant lines to and
from a coolant system recovery/expansion tank/bottle for the TR4.
Obviously I am making the following assumptions: -
1. Expansion/recovery tank will be mounted higher than the cylinder head.
Say, on the firewall next to the battery
2. Existing Radiator cap to be of the fixed/closed type
3. Coolant system over pressure will now be controlled by radiator cap
fitted to expansion/recovery tank
4. Coolant total loss will now occur at the expansion tank due to over
pressure
My questions are: -
1. Are any of you already running a system such as the above? Successful
in controlling air into the coolant circuit/system?
2. Where is the most appropriate connection to the coolant expansion
recovery tank made? E.g. At the heater tap port and the back of the water
pump? Thermostat housing? Radiator top hose/port?
3. Do you have an air bleed orifice/port in this cooling circuit/system
as well?
Thanks in advance
Kind Regards
Peter Vucinic
