I looked into rewebbing my Simpson belts a few years back and learned the
price of re-webbed belts was not significantly different from new belts.
And if I cut off my SFI tags and sent them in, I got a discount.
Now I just buy new and sell the old ones to an autocrosser for $15.
Tip (for SCCA anyway): Make sure the new ones are dated 2010. That way,
under the "2-year rule" you actually get three years. How? 2010 belts expire
in 2012. But only the year matters -- they expire at the END of 2012. Buy in
January 2010, keep 'em to December 2012, buy the next set in January 2013.
(Been doing that ever since the 2-year rule kicked in.)
