Gotta' admit my cheapo mentality ignorance here... When I built my
car I thought I'd go "hi-tech" and used dot 5 synthetic for my first
time ever. Quickly learned that the boiling point of synthetic is not
suitable for racing. Have used regular ol' NAPA dot 4 since and have
never had the soft pedal syndrome reappear. MY question is, if I'm
not experiencing a soft pedal, what am I missing by not using fluid
that costs nearly as much as I pay for a [used] set of race tires?
Granted I don't use the brakes any harder than any other component on
the poor thing but I do get them up to temp occasionally.
