Interesting thread as I have been toying with the idea of taking an extra set
of carbs and bead blasting everything including the manifold for that clean
beadblasted look as an assembly. Think there is anything in the alloy of the
carb peices that the loss of the patina might accelerate coorosion? My biggest
fear is the beads in my engine which is why I probably won't do it...
In the past I have had very good luck with Kas' method. I was however always
surprised how quickly it all went back to the basic SU look, kinda like
learning to like green bronze on my sailboat. Admittedly, my car suffers from
months - sometimes years of back-burner syndrome where another toy gets my
primping time and the TR just gets driven...
