I never did any real scientific moves with my negative camber. In my earlier
years, I used Lee Mueller springs with the spacers taken out and cut upper
control arms on my TR-3. After accumulating what was left of Donna Mae Mims
TR-3, I took apart the front suspension and found short springs with the spacer
s
still installed. I installed them on my car with uncut upper control arms,
and got approximately the right negative camber.
Someone told me that this was one of the first cars set up by Group 44, when
they were working in a one stall lean-to in Falls Church, VA. I wonder if
they did some trick maneuver, or did just lowering the car do the job. If anyo
ne
has any contacts with ex-Group 44 members, maybe he can ask them.
Donna Mae also told me that she upset the car once, and the Group 44 roll bar
collapsed on her. I saw her this summer working grid at the Pittsburgh
Vintage Grand Prix.
