Pull out your N.Y. maps, guys.
Painted Post, Corning and Horseheads are on I-86 between 15 & 20 miles from
the track.
They all have brand name hotels.
Ithaca, where Russ lives, also has brand name hotels but a bit further away.
There are 2 colleges there.
Not likely that you'll find anything closer. We WPTA guys have been
grandfathered at The Falls Motel in Montour Falls for years, almost walking
distance. We have tried to get another room, unsuccessfully.
Sunday night at the Seneca Lodge is great. Most people are gone, you can
actually stand at the bar for a drink and get a dinner table when you want
it. Don't do Watkins Glen without going to the Seneca Lodge.
That is where a "schnockered" Buddy Palumbo peed in Julie's open suitcase.
