1. I've been running 11 years without the boots with no issues.
Otherwise, they tend to melt from the heat! See the Moss catalogue page
38 "Brakes" for a diagram as to the difference in the piston
configuration for fitting the boots.
2. I'm using the SS pistons (from Moss) to minimize seal failure.
3. I've split my calipers with no problems. Torque rating for the inner
bolts - 75 lbs. and the outer bolts - 45 lbs.
