Hello all,
Switching from an early TR4 chassis to a solid axle TR4-A style can
be done. It involves more changes than just the frame. On a stock
version the radiator, radiator braces, steering rack, cross tube, steering
shaft, trans mount plate, park brake setup, and complete rear axle with
springs and hangers are different. For a race car modifications could
be made to some of the original pieces. As far as rigidity the early
style is a lot less flexible. Try putting a TR4-A or TR6 on a lift and
then open the doors. Again a modified stronger RATCO late
version could help. I'm sure Kas dealt with these issues, any
insight?
