The official publication of the Chicagoland Sports Car Club (CSSC) is called
the Downshift. The front page of the October/November issue carries a nice
picture of John Reed's TRIUMPH GT6 along with the caption recognizing the fact
that last month John participated in his 30th consecutive 'That Loooong Race'.
Every October CSSC holds the 'That Loooong Race' event at Blackhawk Farms
Raceway in Rocton, Illinois. It is Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs
season
ending event, where cars run loooong feature races (in the 110 mile range).
Pretty impressive, and suggests John and that old reliable GT6 have run well
over 3,000 racing miles just in that event. Doesn't mention the fact that John
runs most of the other Council events held all year as well, along with VSCDA
vintage events, etc. Hooray for John and that trusty old GT6. And did I
mention? He goes FAST.
