On four cylinder cars, with SU carburetors, engine mounting that is
to stiff oftentimes causes foaming of fuel in the float bowls. This
usually happens in the 5000 rpm range. This is because of the shaking
forces present in eery four cylinder engine. This problem does not
seem to occur with Weber carbureted cars.
More and more owners are going to flexible mountings for the
carburetors to prevent this.
