It is sad to report the recent death of the UK's if not the Worlds oldest
racing driver. Tom Delaney was 95 and had raced his Lea-Francis Hyper, with
which he started racing at Brooklands in the 1930s against the likes of
then-land speed record holder Malcolm Campbell right up to August this year.
Evan an accident at Silverstone two years ago, when he was thrown from his car,
didn't deter him from continuing in the sport that he loved so much.
Tom's contribution to UK Motor Sport was recognised when he was given the
MSA's first Lifetime Achievement Award last year.
He will be a great loss to UK Motor Sport.
